Nick Johnson primarily focuses on advising the firm’s union clients and benefit fund clients. He is a trusted advisor for assisting the firm’s union clients with organizing efforts and representation cases.
Nick has served as lead counsel on major organizing campaigns by the firm’s union clients and has carefully guided clients through NLRB election proceedings and representation cases. He is involved in leading collective bargaining negotiations, arbitration proceedings, and litigation efforts. Nick zealously advocates for workers’ interests at the bargaining table and works closely with union bargaining committees to set priorities during negotiations.
Nick also serves as co-counsel for the firm’s employee benefit fund clients. His knowledge of ERISA and how employee benefit plans operate to provide health and retirement benefits to union-represented workers is an asset during collective bargaining.
After joining the firm in 2015, Nick became a partner in 2023. Nick was an associate at a union-side labor law firm in Kansas City before joining the firm. During law school, he worked as a law clerk at the U.S. Department of Labor, at the Laborers' International Union of North America, the Service Employees International Union, and at a union-side labor law firm in Washington, D.C.
